1. Watch a Bellagio Water Show
This is a Vegas “must see!” Any time you can fit it into your schedule is good but if you can get there after night-fall, even better! The spouting water mixed with the lights makes for an even better show.
2. Take a Stroll Through Caesars Palace Forum Shops and Don’t Miss “Fall of Atlantis”
If you like fire shows, water shows and giant talking statues (who am I kidding, who doesn’t like these things), then this free attraction is right up your ally. Let me tell ya, this attraction can make for some really cool videos and pictures for your social media site too! If you have the time, be sure to check out the remainder of the Forum Shops; including, the 50,000 gallon fish tank!
3. It’s Always Sunny in the Venetian
Well, it is always sunny at "St. Mark’s Square," anyway. If you are anything like me, one of your goals is to stroll through the streets of Venice, Italy. Until that day comes, and it will come, the Venetian’s lookalike of the heart of Venice is a pretty magical replica.
The Renaissance architecture, murals and overall design of St. Mark’s Square is so beautiful and fun. Although I have seen it many times, I am still astonished that it is one of Las Vegas’ freebies.
4. Be One with Nature at Flamingo’s Wildlife Habitat
A lush habitat with waterfalls, tropical trees and plants and an island that is mainly home to beautiful rescued Chilean Flamingos. Other known occupants are additional exotic birds, fish, turtles and ducks. This lovely wildlife habitat has received multiple awards and very positive reviews. It is a fun place to take the kids in Las Vegas, take a romantic stroll with your hunny, to check out with your friends, or to just take a peaceful walk through on your own. And, it is 100% free!
5. Bask in the Beauty at Bellagio Conservatory and Botanical Garden
The first time I was honored with the enchanted view of Bellagio’s indoor garden displays I was in pure awe and amazement. Then, every time thereafter, well, the feeling never wavered.
The conservatory and botanical garden is a vast part of who the Bellagio is; it is a part of their incredible reputation and time and time again, they outdo themselves with their displays. It truly is remarkable; you have to see it with your own eyes to truly believe the beautiful site. I very much throw many hats off to all the artists who create the displays they do out of flower arrangements and other natural items.
6. Be a Part of the Outbursts at the Mirage Volcano
Located right out front of the Mirage is a very exciting volcano show with awesome fireballs and explosions that boom along to a soundtrack created by two music celebrities, Mickey Hart (The Grateful Dead) and Zakir Hussain (Indian Tabla performer/sensation). The fireballs soar at 8:00 and 9:00 PM, Sunday through Thursday and 8:00, 9:00 and 10:00 PM Friday’s and Saturday’s.
7. Hit Up the Circus
Just a quick bus ride from the glitz and glam of the busy portion of the strip sits “Circus Circus.” It is one of my favorite casinos to visit while in Las Vegas and one of the reasons why is the “Midway Circus Act” that is performed each day starting at 11:30AM and every hour thereafter until 11:30PM, Sunday through Thursday and until 12:30PM Friday’s and Saturday’s.
Just past the entrance to the casino from Las Vegas Blvd., look up and you will see there is a mezzanine level to the casino floor; this is where the Midway Circus is located. Take the winding staircase upward and there you are, smack dab in the middle of a grand circus experience. There are circus games and food, various shops, clowns providing juggling entertainment and a spectacular and fun circus performance each hour at 30 minutes past. This is a pretty cool free event! Thanks, Circus Circus!
8. Get Fancy at City Center:
Located just outside Aria Casino and Resort, City Center is not just an architecturally unique building, it is a stunning and pristine home to some very chic, high-end retailers. Step inside to check out the amazing grouping of fine things and be sure to take pictures to prove you were surrounded by such 'well-to-do' items.
But wait, there’s more (of course there is)! Looking, ‘ooo-ing and ohhh-ing,’ and shopping if you want, is not all that City Center has to offer! City Center has some exceptional, one of a kind, art on display too. If you are an artsy individual or just like nice artwork, check it out! If art is not your forte but you are looking for a really cool Facebook or Instagram post, take a crazy-cool pic in front of some of the art pieces at City Center; you are sure to get a few extra “likes.”
9. Walk Through Wynn’s Wonderland
The Wynn is one of the most beautiful Casinos I have ever seen. With all that beauty, everything must cost a fortune, right? Wrong! The Wynn has many free attractions worth discovering yourself. Like Bellagio, the Wynn has an amazing floral display; however, what sets it apart is the sort of wonderland feel you get when walking through it.
One of the features of this display that I particularly love is the rather creative and detailed floral carousal. Other very beautiful characteristics include fancy walkways where lights, trees and decorations hang above you, as well as other incredible floral designs surrounding. Walking through this area almost makes you will feel like royalty...almost.
10. Flex with Popeye and Smell the Tulips at Wynn Casino Las Vegas
Wynn Casino & Resort has so many free amazing features to be seen! So many, that they also made this list twice! This ones is in the form of stainless steel art - finished in a shiny mirrored metallic.
The first is a 6' 5" tall Popeye statue that came at the tune of nearly $28.2 million! The second is a giant bouquet of stainless steel tulips and sold to the highest bidder, Steve Wynn, for a whopping, $33.6 million. Both are very unique and a wonderful feature at Wynn Casino and definitely photo worthy! But, do not get too close; these high price ticket items come heavily guarded.
11. Park Your Seat in the Park
Need a break from roaming the busy Strip (something free in its own)? No problem, check out “The Park Vegas” located behind New York New York and adjacent to T Mobile arena. In The Park, you will see some very neat artistic statues. You will also find some very fun parties! There are plenty of festivities throughout the calendar year that take place in The Park, so check the schedule to see if there is anything taking place during your Las Vegas Vacation.
12. The “Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas” Sign
The most southern end of the Las Vegas Strip, past Mandalay Bay, sits the famous “Welcome to Fabulous Las Vegas” sign, so loud and proud and in all its glimmer and glory. Let the Neon lights roar behind you as you take one epic photo in front of the iconic welcoming landmark of Las Vegas.
In fact, something new that I learned recently is that on May 1, 2009, this very sign was formally added to the National Registrar of Historical Places. Very neat!
Small Tip:
If you are in Vegas with a big party, it would be super awesome to get a picture of everyone in front of this sign! You honestly cannot visit fabulous Las Vegas without visiting the one fixture that is known to be associated with it around the world! Can you say #vegasmemories?
*For the Ultimate Vegas Experience*
I hope you find this post to be helpful to your upcoming Las Vegas Vacation. The truth is, there is a lot of free sightseeing to be done in Las Vegas, and so in a city where you are ultimately surrounded by tourists, be one yourself!
